Website Privacy Notice
The handling of information supplied here, stated in full rather than summarised.
Application
Every request submitted through cmmcalibrationpittsburgh.com carries information with it, and this policy states plainly what becomes of that information: what is collected, what it is used for, and the commercial arrangement the request is handled under. The website and the requests made through it are both covered.
Current version: 9 October 2026.
Disclosure of the Commercial Arrangement
cmmcalibrationpittsburgh.com operates as a marketing and referral website under Pittsburgh CMM Calibration and Repair. No CMM Calibration and Repair work is undertaken by the operator of this site, which is not itself a calibration laboratory.
Instead, requests submitted here are passed to external laboratories that carry their own accreditation, run their own quality management system, and issue certificates and reports in their own name. A laboratory is chosen for current accreditation and scope, demonstrated capability for the measurement requested, and a strong record of delivering it.
The operator of this website is paid in connection with that introduction, whether as a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed. This payment leaves the quoted price unchanged, and it gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. The same disclosure is repeated in the conditions of business.
Information Collected
Two kinds of information are collected.
The first is what you provide with a request:
- name, company, email address and telephone number
- the item, the quantity, the measurement points and the tolerances
- the standard required and the turnaround needed
The second is the ordinary technical information a browser sends — IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the pages viewed on this site.
No payment card details are collected through this website.
How Information Is Used
The purpose of holding what a request contains is narrow: reviewing the request, obtaining a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and corresponding about it. The server's own technical record exists only to keep the site available and secure, and to track page usage.
None of it is sold. Renting, trading, or passing it to a third party for marketing of its own is equally off the table.
Disclosure to Others
The laboratory or laboratories asked to quote or perform the work receive the request detail, and so do the providers who host this site, send its email or run its analytics — all acting on instructions, none permitted to use the information for their own purposes.
Beyond that, disclosure happens only where the law requires it or where an accreditation body exercises a right of access to a performing laboratory's records.
Confidentiality
Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results are confidential. The standard applied is the one that applies to accredited laboratory work, and access is restricted to the people who need the material to prepare a quotation or to complete the work.
Where the law requires a disclosure, notice that it has been made is given to you — unless giving that notice is itself prohibited.
Cookies and Analytics
What this site sets is limited to the cookies it needs to function, plus, where analytics is enabled, aggregate counting of visits. Most browsers can block or delete them. The site remains usable if you do, but a form submitted afterwards may not be recorded correctly.
Retention of Records
Inquiry records are retained while they are needed to answer the request, and for as long afterwards as accounting and record-keeping obligations require. They are then deleted, or the identifying detail is stripped from them. The records a performing laboratory holds are governed by that laboratory's own records policy.
Your Choices
You may ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, using the contact routes on the contact page. Requests are answered within thirty days. Any marketing email sent carries an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.
Changes to This Policy
This statement is revised from time to time, as needed; whatever is published at cmmcalibrationpittsburgh.com at the time is the version that applies. The laws of Pennsylvania govern this statement.
